Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Type of logo: Word mark, Letter form, Abstract mark
Brand name/slogan in logo: KZM METRON / Accountable Development
Ideas for the visual style: Simple / Low Key / Elegant Design / Nothing too flashy / But not dull and boring / Yet tell a story
Things to avoid: Rip Offs from readily available symbols
Preferred colors: Simple / Pastel Colours / Not too complex a pallette
Where the design will be used: Stationary, Business Cards and (eventually) the Website
Extra notes:
The firm is called:
KZM METRON
The tagline is:
Accountable Development
This is what the logo and letterhead should incorporate into the design. They don't have to be bound together in one unit and can be separated across a space if that appears to work better in the proposed design.
I was doodling on Keynote and came up with something simple. Even something as simple as this is potentially quite appealing. So that may be a good starting point. Otherwise whatever you guys can make of this brief.
A modern, elegant, simple design is what I am looking for (but see some of the themes below).
This is going to be a business that is slightly away from the normal (boring) accountancy and audit field (I hope!). Even though that is the primary service it will provide.
It will be focusing on the International Development Sector. Working with Medium to Large Charities and NGOs to help them ensure that they manage the financial side of development projects properly.
So the Key Themes to keep in mind:
International Development / International Development Aid;
Large Institutional Donors such as the UN / EU / DFID / SIDA;
Medium to Large NGOs and Development Agencies such as Oxfam, Save the Children, ActionAid, Mercy Corps, CARE International etc;
Financial Management;
Donor Assurance;
Advice / Consulting / Proposal Writing
I should add that while the firm is about financial management it is not about investment or making money grow. It is about using development aid funds well.
It's more about using development funds properly and safeguarding them. So not an increase in an investment but proper usage.
All these are just themes to keep in mind when formulating a simple and elegant logo / brand.
Good Luck!!!
That's why you guys are the experts and not me!!!!
***Notes:
Assurance (audit) services in the UK are licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accounts of England & Wales (ICAEW) which has certain criteria for logos and letterheads that it will deem acceptable. The institute review each proposed logo and letterhead before approval.
In practice that means that so long as the logo / letterhead is professional with nothing whacky they will sign off on it. The ICAEW does have guidelines on its website but they are essentially a long-winded way of saying keep it dignified and professional.
The letterhead design will also need to incorporate address information:
KZM METRON LTD
71-75 Fictional Street
Somewhere Garden
London
WC1T 8RS
Tel: +44 (0)207 123 4567
Fax: +44 (0)207 123 4567
www.kzmmetron.com
director@kzmmetron.com
Please note. I have just registered the company and in the process of finalising the trading office address and phone/fax numbers etc. So we can work with the above for now and then update once I have finalised those.
The footer of the letterhead will need to incorporate the following statement:
KZM METRON LTD is a limited liability company registered in England with registered number 10013324. The registered office of KZM METRON LTD is 71-75 Fictional Street, Somewhere Garden, London, WC1T 8RS.
