Graphic Designer Need to Help with Logo, Branding, & Packaging Design for Specialty Foods Spice Company
Parthia Saffron is a small family run Specialty Foods company that sells directly to Fine Dining Resturants in Vancouver, BC.
All Red Persian Saffron is our primary product. Our product line consists of about 20 items.
We currently package from Bulk to a Ziplock Bag or into a small bottle for liquids.
Order's are usually fulfilled in 1oz or 1kg quantities.
Our Saffron, along with the other ingredients we sell are of the highest quality, but current branding and packaging are terrible.
Chefs at Fine Dining Restaurants in the Vancouver Area use our products as a part of their menus.
We have managed to sell our products without any real branding since our products are of highest quality, and that's all that the Chefs really care about, but I'd like to fix this before I expand our product line and increasing sales.
We personally deliver directly to the Chef or Sous Chef and sometimes restaurant staff along with an invoice that gets handed to the accounting department of the restaurant for payment to be sent later.
There are only a handful of Fine Dining Chefs in the city so referrals happen when a Chef goes to another restaurant or a new Chef sees the previous Chef ordered from us.
Example of our customers are:
https://www.glowbalgroup.com/
https://www.thomashaas.com/
http://pmentertainment.com/westoak
https://www.fourseasons.com/vancouver/dining/
If you send a generic template reply that I have read this and look at my profile for examples, you will be cut immediately.
The Approach to creating the brand & design:
Imagine Gordon Ramsey is the Chef you are handing the package too and he will be opening it to use what's inside.
Not only does the contents need to be of the best quality, but the packaging also needs to be reflective of what is inside.
I like the overall look of the packaging in the link below:
https://www.canva.com/learn/packaging-design/
Overall Objective
- Collaborate and Create a Clean, Modern, Simple but High-Class packaging for our Product Line
- Look over what has already been created to get an idea of what I am looking for in terms of design, colours and overall image. Suggest any changes if your experience and knowledge of current industry standards is better.
- Look over our Product Line to know what get's packaged from Bulk to the deliverable product.
- Finalize the Logo then help Create a Brand/Image for packaging for all the products
Design / Modify Marketing Material to match new Brand & Packaging look
- Price List
- Invoice
- White Paper
- Shipping Box
---------
The Logo - The Saffron Flower has been used but we created the Logo recently
Background :
- Parthia was a historical region during the Persian Empire
- Parthian's were known for the Parthian Shot, a military tactic where the horse-mounted archer would, while in real or feigned retreat, turn their bodies back in full gallop to shoot at the pursuing enemy.
Slogan or tag line?
- Our competitive edge is that our Saffron is ALL RED, it has the last impurities
Currently Packaging for the product line.
- All Red Persian Saffron - 1oz in Zip Lock Bag
- Pistachio Slivers - 1kg in Zip Lock Bag
- Persian Sumac - Varies - Refer to Pictures
- Rose Peddles -
- Persian Barberries
- French Lavender
- Dried Mint Leaves
- Zaatar
Essences of the Natural Oils - 15ml Bottle
- Refer to Price List list
Is there anything designers should avoid?
I do not want a complicated or cluttered design.
It works for some products in the retail sector but because these items are High Price Tag items that are used directly by the Chefs & Sous Chefs in High-End restaurants I want something that is simple yet elegant and will still catch everyone's eye in the kitchen where you will want to pick up the package and examine it and this will lead to others asking for our products.
Again, imagine Gordon Ramsey will be the Chef I will be delivering too and he will S*it on me if what I present is... well, not to his standards.
- Do not need UPC or barcode for now
Is there anything designers should have?
Must have Creative Talent & Previous Experience
Prior Experience working at a Professional company is not necessary but helps
Demonstrate in their proposal that they can actually produce what I am looking for with something specific
Must be familiar and have Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and or Photoshop
Files are in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & PDF
