I recently wrote a children's poem that I would like to try turning into a short story with illustrations. The poem is about being frustrated at times and advising children to take a deep breath sometimes.

    Hello, sorry for the late response. I would like about seven illustration. Not large, 7x7in should be fine. The focus would be the character him/herself so the background would be more of a color to compliment the character. I'm open to something bold or subtle like watercolor; but something "cartoony" that a six or seven year old might be drawn to. This is one of my first projects so I'm not even sure what to expect I just can't draw that way lol.

    Here is part of the poem:

    "The time well come when it just isn't your day.
    You will put both your shoes on the wrong way.
    Brush every strand of your hair, but it just won't stay.
    Wont see the floor is wet, so you will slip,
    spilling all of you milk before getting a sip."

    I don't envision background illustration; more simple colors to compliment the picture and that will allow the text to be easily read.
