Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 6 months
Information for the business: Games app development
Industry: Internet/Software
Design details: Firstly roughly half of the design work has been done by three freelancers already on the project but a lot remains:
-Drawing of 2D buildings appearing to be 3D - seen from above on an isometric grid. Each building has 5-10 upgrade options apart from a few exceptions. Multiple sprites will be needed for buildings.
-World Map (main interface) needs to be drawn. Hand-drawn templates will be provided. Map is split into many near-equally sized regions with cities spread around. The game contains 5 elements, across the map these are reflected in the regions and equally dispersed. E.g. for wood element the Region is a forest, for Desert element it's a desert etc.
-Backgrounds for in-game play to be drawn. 10 for each element totalling 50 sprites. These must have depth and appear to go back into the screen.
Ideas for the visual style: Abstract/Rich. Style most similar to Supercell apps BB & CoC.
Things to avoid: Hand-drawn anything, Untexturised objects.
Where the design will be used: Apps
Extra notes: Most of the in-game play has been done by already existing designers who continue to work on this aspect. Design work has been done on the 5 elements already and design ideas should be reused for a seamless look to the game.
The exception where work has not been done is on the buildings where we aim to base the game upon other existing apps using an isometric grid structure where you can create and move buildings around the screen for instance clash of clans.
The Elements to be reflected in the regions are: water, wood, earth, desert, fire.
