Children's Book Illustrator

Pens, pencils, pastels at the ready?

Hello, I'm a writer who's reworking a series of children's books I've written and I'm looking to establish a partnership with a Children's Book Illustrator.

Ideally, I'm seeking someone who's interested in a 50/50 split of all royalties going forward, but appreciate that's not very appealing, as there's no guarantee of sales.

So to start with, I'm looking to pay someone to rework the illustrations in a book I've written (current sample text with my own pretty poor sketches attached).

The title and some of the content will change in the rewritten version, which will not use rhyme. And specific pages of the book will be adapted to suit specific markets. I'm starting with a UK version.

But the idea is the same - an abandoned Christmas tree called Sprucey goes looking for Christmas and finds evidence of Christmas spirit in each month of the year.

I'm looking for quotes for illustrating the entire book. There will be one illustration required for each month of the year, plus 2 for the intro and one for the ending. So, if my maths is correct, 15 in total.

A Sprucey Bonus will go to illustrators who can also lay-out the book with the text so it's ready for publishing on Amazon Kindle.. What's that - you said you can design the cover as well? Brilliant!
