Hero Character Design + Book Illustration

I am interested in developing animal based super characters that will be featured in a series of books aimed at children of the age group 7-11
The effort will initially focus on developing a super hero with a detailed mood board (8 + moods) of which I will supply a detailed brief.
Some flexibility is required in designing and coloring until the superhero is finalized.
Subsequently, I will supply the script for the first book to illustrate the super hero in 3 different settings that will form part of the library to be used in later illustrations.
The development of the first 3 illustrations is to be done following a collaborative process – first agreeing on illustration background and certain elements, then agreeing on line drafts/illustrations, and finally coloring.
Some flexibility is expected throughout the entire process.
Candidate should be skilled in hand drawing as well as Adobe illustrator/Photoshop or a similar computer package to be able to explore and execute visual ideas and quick mock ups.
I will be running this as a competition so I will be bankrolling more than one bid with all bidders compensated in full for their work i.e. super hero design + 3 illustrations
At the end of this exercise I would then hire your services to illustrate a series of books – your ability then to art direct, build a library and collaborate with other illustrators to ensure delivery against a very aggressive time schedule will prove essential.
Previous relevant work, turnaround time, quality of previous work, and experience are important
