Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am looking for a graphic designer to work with me on an A4 downloadable guide (PDF) aimed at small to medium UK event organisers. This is something I can create myself in Canva, however, the simple fact is I am working up a new digital marketing plan at present and do not have the time! This project might even lead to other little bits of work in the future. I found my current accountant on PPH some eight years ago!
The guide provides practical advice on social media planning, using real examples, and explains how organisers can use AI tools to streamline their marketing while staying in control.
All written content has already been created. This project is design‑led, not copy‑led.
The finished guide will be used as a lead magnet (download after sign‑up), so clarity, professionalism and ease of use are essential.
Scope of work
Design in CANVA ready to share with me
Design and layout of a 6 to 8 page A4 guide
Clean, modern, professional look suitable for the events sector
Clear hierarchy for headings, sub‑headings, call‑out boxes and examples
Visual emphasis on:
“Proof / People / Practical” sections
Ready‑to‑copy social media examples
Tip boxes and summaries
Space left intentionally for:
Event photos
Icons or simple illustrations - or for you to insert where you feel is best
Highlighted quotes or key messages - or for you to insert where you feel is best
I will supply:
Finalised text (Word or Google Doc)
Brand guidance (logo, colours, tone)
Any images or image direction if needed
Style and tone
Professional but approachable
Practical, not corporate
Calm, confident, supportive
Designed for organisers who are busy and not marketing specialists
Think clear guidance, not glossy sales brochure.
Deliverables
Final print‑ready PDF
Editable source file (Canva)
Simple cover page and internal page consistency
Design that can be reused or adapted for future guides
Working style and budget
I am happy to to work collaboratively but also work full time, so daytime correspondence is limited
Budget wise this is not a difficult project, nor should it take very long
I value designers who:
Ask sensible questions
Suggest improvements
Keep things simple and usable
This is not a rush job, but I do want steady progress and clear communication.
Ideal experience
Experience designing guides, reports or lead magnets
Comfortable designing for Canva or PDF distribution
Understanding of layout for instructional or educational content
Bonus if you’ve worked with small businesses, events or community‑led projects
How to respond
Please include:
A brief overview of your relevant experience
Examples of similar work (guides, reports, PDFs)
Preferred tools (Canva, InDesign, etc.)
