Description
Experience Level: Expert
Industry: Education
Design details: This job is to standardise the electronic templates I use on a monthly/daily basis in order to retain a similar looking corporate identity.
Background:
I am a consultant who mainly works in schools/education in the United Kingdom. Specifically the role is helping teachers, children and their parents with online safety (commonly called e-safety), in other words reducing the risk of harm to children and young people when using technology.
As a part of this role I publish two free newsletters each month, one for teachers and one for parents. Examples of these newsletters can be seen here (http://www.esafety-adviser.com/latest-newsletter/).
I also do audits and reports within schools.
Please have a look at my website and my 'About' page to get to know me a little better (www.esafety-adviser.com). As you will see I like things to be quite simple on the eye - clean, simple, whitespace, using just a few simple colours to draw the eye.
The requirements of this project are as follows:
- 2 x newsletter templates (Adobe InDesign format). One of these newsletters is for teachers, the other for parents. Each newsletter should have a nice front page with three differently designed content pages (this is simply so that I can use different format pages depending on what I'm writing about, sometimes it will be all text, sometimes it will have some graphics).
- Report front page template (MS Word format). I write lots of reports for schools. The front page of the report is simply to give the title of the report, the school name, the company name and company contact details. On the reverse of this will be a disclaimer statement. There needs to be a further report page where I will past the actual report text into.
- Letter template (MS Word format) - pretty standard, just a simple design for when I need to send any letters.
- Certificate (Adobe InDesign format) - this is a certificate that I usually present to a school when I have been in to deliver training. An example of the current certificate that I use has been uploaded.
Messages to communicate through the design: Technology, education
Ideas for the visual style: Clean, whitespace, colours used to draw attention
Things to avoid: Cluttered
Extra notes: Company logo is available in various high quality formats. The company logo is the 'esafety-adviser' at the top right of the website (www.esafety-adviser.com).
All my newsletters and reports are sent electronically (usually PDF) but some schools also print out so this needs to be borne in mind.
The budget I have set is negotiable prior to allocating the work. I haven't had to pay for something like this before so this was simply an arbitrary figure I have put.
My decision will be based on your reply (how detailed it is and whether you have taken the points I have made into consideration), your portfolio of work and your cost. The decision won't be based on 'cheapest'.
