Description
Experience Level: Expert
Hi there!
We are a small production music library (think stock music for TV) who are revamping our album covers. We have a concept which has been approved and are looking for someone who can duplicate this (or do something similar - it doesn't have to be totally identical - maybe you have a better concept or twist on it). We need this style of design to then be applied to around 43 of our existing albums to replace old artwork, so we have a cohesive look to all our albums. At that point, we'd then want to work directly with our designer as we curate new albums, so there would definitely be future work.
So to clarify, we'd like to see you do one or two (or more if you want) of our albums from the list close to the style in the referenced files as a pitch. Whilst there will be no fee for that pitch, from that, we'll then choose a designer to do the whole job of creating all albums from the list below, which will be paid at the job rate specified for the completion of all albums listed.
We have uploaded 2 samples of the design style that has been approved for our albums "african" and "americana". We'd love to see you do one or more of the below albums that need album design, so we can get a sense of what you could do for us. (Don't pick African or Americana as albums to pitch.) However, if you have a better concept which is similar, we'd love to see it. Whatever you do must be replicable as a concept over all the albums listed, should you get the job.
Below is the list of albums together with some other info you may find useful:

Fonts: Gilroy for the cover type and our logo. (Light/Semibold/Extrabold)
Text Position: Center where possible for the album title font and bottom left for our logo - but it's important not to be too rigid on this as it's all dependent on the image chosen which will by its nature will determine where text best sits. Shoe-horning text into the horizontal center might possibly end in a very dull result looking at a page of 40 albums.
Images: Our silver 3D objects were obtained from envato elements. You can pick and rotate various 3d objects, then download a render. However their collection is somewhat limited. If not - 3D skills may be required (or stock libraries searched). 3D wise this could be done by downloading a relevant 3D object representative of our album concept - then shaded with a metallic texture map, lighting applied, then best positioned and rendered out.
Text and image interaction: It might be cool and fun if the image could interact with the text in some way e.g. the giraffe pulling the I in african.
Color: I've got a slight concern in terms of our material not looking particularly vibrant now we've stripped all color out. Probably only applicable when viewing the catalogue as a whole but I don't know if there is any way of introducing a splash of color into this concept. If you have any ideas it would certainly be interesting.
Files: We'll need original packaged illustrator/photoshop files of the work once we start working with someone - as I'll need to export at varying quality for different applications.
Budget: The budget is for creating and delivering on all albums once we pick a designer.
We will own and retain copyright of all artwork once the full amount is paid to the winning freelancer.
Timeline: We'll review uploaded artwork over the next 14 days then decide on a winner to work with for the remaining album covers. This main bulk of the project can then be completed over the course of 1 month.
Any other questions, just get in touch!

Hi! Do you know that asking for a test is against PPH T&Cs?

Hi Michael
I have a couple of questions:
1. Do you have reference or a link to the collection on Envato? Gives me more of an idea on the scope of the objects.
2. If stock photo's are required will the cost of these have to be included within the budget or can they be added on top or do you have subscriptions to various stock photo companies we can use.
Thanks
Martin
