Character Design For Kids gift site

I am starting up a business in the UK that focuses on children between the ages of 0 to 14 years old. The premise of the business will be to over index on featuring kids who tend to be under represented when you go into a store and by a pencil case, birthday card, t-shirt, a toy etc.. I'm looking for a few freelancers to work with, with different styles, who can create characters that would ultimately end up on greeting cards, mugs/plates, colouring in books, t-shirt, wrapping paper, notebooks, posters, pencil cases etc....it would be great to work with freelancers who have different backgrounds - cultural, ethnic, religious etc - and can draw on this to inspire their characters.

The brief is for an initial concept of 3-4 characters that would appeal to
kids aged 0-3 - girls/boys
Kids aged 4-6 - girls/boys
kids aged 7-11 - girls/boys
kids aged 12-14 - girls boys

The freelancer can choose which age group they feel most comfortable creating for. Based on the initial concepts and the style of illustration/artwork submitted I would then work with that freelancer to move these forward, with specific briefs e.g how we could transfer this character to greeting cards, stationary etc..
