Description
Experience Level: Expert
Architect / Technician proficient in Sketch Up required to assist busy practice.
We are a busy family run Architectural Drawing business specialising in domestic extensions/alterations and new residential developments in the UK. Our work ranges from typical single and two storey extensions, to listed building alterations and larger new build projects.
We have established an excellent reputation in our local area, and our business has grown significantly over the past 12 months. We now require an Architect/Technician/Draftsman who is experienced and proficient in Sketch Up to assist us as we continue to grow on an ongoing basis.
The work would involve translating our hand-drawn site survey notes into Sketch-Up in order to create a 3D model of the existing house/building. We would then be able to take this forward ourselves and add any extensions/include all alterations.
Initially, we are looking for just the basic 3D model of the house/building to be created. The key for us is how the model is built i.e the use of groups and layers, scenes and styles etc.
Our modelling is primarily based on the Nick Sonder method, you can find his videos on YouTube. The model structure is very simple. Every line drawn is on layer 0, this never changes. Beyond this they are grouped and assigned to a layers, which are primarily – Ground floor, first floor and roof. It does get more complex than this although these are the basics to begin with.
Beyond Sketch-Up we work in SU Layout to present our drawings, 2D elevations, floor plans, perspective views etc. Depending on your workload and experience in Layout, this is something we would also be interested in out sourcing as well.
We are hoping to find an Architect/Technician that is open to a collaborative process, and there is certainly scope for more works as time progresses -– more detail could be included within plans and there is the possibility of working on the proposed scheme as well as the existing arrangements.
If you are interested please send us your email address as we will forward on an example of our survey notes and an example of the type of model/work we would like to see in terms creation of the existing model.
The price isnt fixed, depending on the level of detail and work you can offer will dictate your fee.
Any further info or any questions please just ask
