Description
We are seeking a skilled PCB layout designer to create manufacturing files for a custom sensor board based around an ESP32/ESP8266. The schematic and component list will be provided, and the sole task is to perform the physical PCB layout and generate the industry-standard files required for fabrication. Proven experience in PCB layout design, translating schematics into manufacturable physical layouts, is required. Expertise in generating accurate Gerber and drill files that meet standard fabrication specifications is essential. The ability to create clean layouts considering good practices for power/ground planes and signal routing on a 2-layer or 4-layer board is preferred. Good communication for clarifying schematic details is required. The designer should be proficient in using KiCad or another ECAD tool capable of exporting project files compatible with KiCad. Examples or portfolio links showcasing previous PCB layout work are required. Confirmation of the ability to deliver standard Gerber/Drill files is essential. The estimated turnaround time for layout based on a provided schematic should be provided, along with the designer's rate (hourly or fixed price estimate).

s there a preferred connector or mounting hole placement I need to consider?
Do you want the project files to be fully editable in KiCad, or just the final manufacturing files?
What is your target turnaround time for completing the PCB layout after receiving the schematic?
Would you prefer an hourly rate or a fixed price quote once I review the full schematic? -
Which ESP model will the board use — ESP32 or ESP8266?
How many layers are you expecting for the PCB — 2-layer or 4-layer?
Are there any specific PCB dimensions or size constraints I should follow?
Will you provide a mechanical drawing or should I define the board outline?
Are there any specific PCB fabrication requirements (minimum trace width, spacing, via sizes, etc.)?
Do you have any preferred PCB manufacturers that I should align the Gerber/Drill files with?
Should I include silkscreen details like labeling components or logos?
Will the schematic and component footprints already be verified, or should I check them during layout?
