Job Title:
CAD Designer Needed to Create 3D Printable Modular Marble Run Pieces
Description:
I am looking for a mechanical CAD designer to help create a prototype design for a modular marble run. The goal is to design several marble run pieces that can connect and attach securely to each other so I can 3D print them and test the concept.
Scope of Work:
• Create CAD designs for modular marble run pieces
• Ensure pieces can connect together easily and securely
• Design tracks so a standard marble rolls smoothly through the system
• Parts must be optimised for 3D printing
• Provide files suitable for prototype testing
Key Requirements:
• Connection system between pieces (for example: clip fit, slot system, or similar)
• Smooth slopes so the marble rolls consistently
• Parts designed so they can be printed without complex supports if possible
Deliverables:
• 3D CAD models
• STL files ready for 3D printing
• Native CAD files if available (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks / similar)
Project Notes:
• I will provide sketches and explain the concept
• This is for a prototype to test the idea, not final production design
• Open to design suggestions from the engineer
Skills Required:
• Mechanical CAD design
• Experience designing 3D printable parts
• Knowledge of tolerances and snap-fit or modular connections
Budget:
Open to proposals (fixed price preferred)
NDA Requirement:
Freelancer must sign a simple NDA before sketches or CAD details are shared. All CAD designs and files are the property of the client.
