Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
We require a freelance designer/marketer to work on a collection of small charity projects.
We are a volunteer-run, UK based charity that is concerned with a rare cause of visual impairment called aniridia. It means we have no irises in our eyes (the coloured part). Find out more about the condition and the vision/mission/values/belief of our organisation at: https://aniridia.org.uk/aboutus
We have several initiatives underway that we need design help with
* Producing online/printed resources to support patients and parents affected by aniridia in the UK
* A worldwide community/fundraising/action event called ‘Aniridia Day’
* A European conference for medical professionals in 2020,
Each of these has and needs a distinct identity. Currently, there is no design treatment for any of them beyond logos and colours taken from them.
While we recognise the huge value in a proper brand development project, we do not have the time or capacity for such an exercise.
Therefore inspired by the logos we would like you to devise three styles, palettes and hence Word/Powerpoint/InDesign templates to establish a basic usable brand for
* Aniridia Network https://aniridia.org.uk/
* Aniridia Day https://aniridiaday.org/
* European Aniridia Conference http://aniridiaconference.org/
Based on this work we would like you to work on the following:
Aniridia Network
* Design and order up to 3 pop-up banners and tablecloths for use at events
* Layout design of a New Parent/Patient Information pack to give to people when they first join as a member
* Layout design of 7-11 page ‘Hospital passport’ to advise medical staff on how to deal with them while an inpatient on a ward
* Set-up of an online shop on Cafe Press (or better alternative particularly that sells sunglasses) including:
* design and uploading of appropriate Aniridia Network graphics to products
* creation of marketing for use on our website, social media and at events
Aniridia Day
* Set-up of an online shop on Cafe Press (or better alternative particularly that sells sunglasses) including:
design and uploading of appropriate Aniridia Day graphics to products, particularly t-shirt, sunglasses and hats
* creation of marketing for use on our website, social media and at events
* Potential redesign of Aniridia Day logo to incorporate the sun
European Conference on Aniridia
* Layout design of a roughly 7 page sponsorship pitch presentation/document in PowerPoint format
* Other tasks such as the creation of pop-up banners and table coverings as the project progresses
Accessibility, particularly for people with visual impairments is a vital requirement of all these tasks. See https://help.rnib.org.uk/help/daily-living/technology/accessible-documents
You will be able to use our photographs available on https://www.flickr.com/photos/aniridianetworkuk/ and elsewhere.
We propose that each of the lines above would be a separate billable task with progression contingent on satisfactory completion of the priority tasks. The order and exact nature of tasks may change over time.
You will need to provide your own equipment and work remotely since we have no offices of our own.
Our Head of Communication and Membership is based in London and would be keen to meet with you in person if possible. Other communication would be online. Note that all our officials are volunteers with day jobs and so meetings/communications are likely to be brief or outside office hours.
Please provide details of your suitability, portfolio and proposals to be considered for this work.
