Freelance Animator / Children's Animation Creator

I’m looking for a talented animator or animation studio to help bring **Natey**, a new children’s music and learning brand, to life through engaging animated videos.

Natey is aimed primarily at children aged **1–5 years**, with a growing catalogue of original nursery rhymes, educational songs and movement-based music covering colours, numbers, the alphabet, shapes, weather, animals, vehicles and everyday routines.

## What I’m looking for

I need someone who can take a finished song/audio track and turn it into a complete animated video suitable for YouTube and other digital platforms.

The videos should feel bright, warm, modern and visually polished, with strong movement, expressions and visual storytelling. They should be engaging without being overly busy or overstimulating, and easy for young children to follow.

Most importantly, the animation should support the lyrics and learning moments within each song rather than simply placing unrelated movement over the music.

## The character

The main character is **Natey, a young Black British boy**.

An established visual direction already exists and reference imagery will be provided. Maintaining Natey’s appearance consistently across scenes and across different videos is extremely important.

The wider world should feel diverse, friendly, colourful and relatable to preschool-aged children.

## Scope of work

For each project, I will provide the final audio track, lyrics and overall concept.

I am looking for support with some or all of the following:

* Visual concept development and storyboarding
* Scene and background creation
* Character animation
* Lip-sync where appropriate
* Dance and movement sequences
* Educational visual cues such as numbers, colours, letters and shapes
* Transitions and scene changes
* Editing and timing animation accurately to the music
* Final export ready for YouTube

I am happy to work collaboratively on the storyboard and creative direction before animation begins.

## Style

I am looking for **high-quality 3D or polished 2D/3D children’s animation**.

The intention is not to copy another children’s channel, but the quality should feel strong enough to sit naturally alongside established preschool content on YouTube.

Character consistency is essential. Natey should not change noticeably between scenes or videos.

I would also like characters, environments and other assets to be reusable where possible so that we can gradually build a recognisable Natey world rather than starting again for every song.

## Initial project

The first project will be **one 2–3 minute animated song/video as a paid trial**, with the intention of developing an ongoing relationship if the collaboration works well.

There is already a growing catalogue of songs, so there is potential for regular work.

## Deliverables

For each completed video, I would expect:

* Final full-resolution 16:9 video
* Minimum 1080p, ideally 4K where appropriate
* Clean master without watermarks
* Editable/project files where agreed
* Reusable character/background assets where applicable
* High-quality stills or frames that could be used for thumbnails

Any AI tools used within the production process must be disclosed, particularly where they could affect character consistency, commercial usage rights or ownership of the finished assets.

## Rights

This is a commercial children’s brand, so appropriate commercial usage rights will be required for the finished animation and agreed assets.

Music, characters, branding and materials supplied by me remain the property of the Natey brand. Ownership and usage rights for newly created animation assets should be agreed before work begins.

## Who I’m looking for

Ideally, you will have experience in children’s animation, preschool content, nursery rhyme or educational videos, music-led animation, character-based series or YouTube content.

Experience maintaining a recurring character consistently across multiple videos would be particularly valuable.
