Animation of existing graphic

Please provide proof of similar work for our shortlist.

The attached example is the base design we want to improve as it is too complex and difficult to understand. It shows 3 rows depicting a customer journey through the live with a supplier. The top row are the possible contact points of the customer, the middle are the stages in the "customer journey" and the bottom level shows the type of customer survey that would be applicable to that customer contact. The lines show which components are engaged at each top level contact point.

We want ideas and costs how to improve this so it shows only the appropriate components when selecting one of the top items. i.e. select "social" and it highlights Research/Service/Lost and all the connected lower level items. Ideas welcome, if another approach is recommended.
