I'm trying to make a custom regiment for a tabletop wargame that I can 3D print with my anycubic photon resin 3D Printer.
The regiment is heavily inspired by the union army during the american civil war. Particularly the sergeant in the sample image, with the longer coat and the crossed leather belts on the waist and chest. I would also like a large belt buckle with a simple eagle silhouette embossed on it.
For the chest I"m hoping for flack armor similar to the reference image of the Cadian soldiers, the back of the model would also be have a similar flack armor on it.
The shoulder epaulets/pauldrons I'm hoping for an exaggerated version of the civil war soldiers, a similar style but larger so they might also be used as hard armor.
The head I would like to have wearing a cowboy hat similar to the one in the Clint Eastwood image. With a bandanna over the mouth like you might see an outlaw wearing in a western.
Keep in mind that this model is roughly 28MM heroic scale and will be 3D printed and painted by hand. This means that features will need to be somewhat exaggerated and super small details would be lost. if you look at the reference image of the minis you can see how the scale is not quite true to life. the arms and legs tend to be exaggerated as do the folds and features in the clothing. Such as the pockets, cuffs, and collars. They also Put a lot of sharper edges on the models to make it easier to paint and to catch "washes" that are put on to help bring out detail at that small of a scale.
There is no rush on this model, I don't have a specific due date. If everything goes well I would also like to commission some time in the future several variants of the model for officer ranks/different weapons and equipment, a female variation and various other modifications.
I know there is a lot of information in there, but I wanted to give as much background information as I could. I would love to talk more in depth and answer any more questions people might have about both the style of the model, as well as specific information about the 3D printing process.
