I need some advice in opening a new UK business

I am a full time employee and wanted to have a UK business to provide some specific services, however I don't want this to look bad with my employer giving that I will have to be the sole director and get salaried of the back of it - is there anyway I could only take dividends rather than be on the payroll? Can I invoice this business through my self-employment giving that I am a partner?
My partner agreed to open the business in their name and have 90% of the shares giving that she will do some work for the business, what is best to have, LLC, LTD, LLP?

I am based in the UK and is preferred that I speak with someone with UK experience.
