Hi there,
We were contracted to provide services to a business for a monthly fee of £500. In the contract, they demanded a clause where the contract can only be terminated with both parties' consent.
The relationship between us and the client deterioriated during the life of the contract. Once they were keen on terminating the contract, they tried doing that without showing any regard for the clause they demanded.
Whilst I was still communicating with the ex client, they had expressed that they are willing to pay a sum as a cancellation fee.
I actually had a solicitor working on this case but he constnatly forgets the details I mentioned several times and has been only pushing for a route that he think is ideal.
Currently, the counter party is arguing that they never intended to cancel the contract although we have evidence of them requesting the termination in writting. They are trying to make it so it was us who stopped providing services.
I have asked the solicitor to share the correspondence with me but he hasn't done that.
I'm keen on moving past this issue by receiving a cancellation fee. Continuing to provide services to the client isn't really an option for us.
Can you let me know what sort of outcome you can help us reach? Also, let me know if you have any details you'd like to review!
Thanks,
Kris

Your advert content is quite misleading, especially "I actually had a solicitor working on this case but he constnatly forgets the details I mentioned several times and has been only pushing for a route that he think is ideal." The details have not been 'forgotten'. You keep ignoring the only viable options and expect ongoing, time-consuming work for free. Kindly respond to the last email that spells everything out clearly. They will not exit this contract and you are now in breach of the terms. you need to do something quickly rather than facing the same situation with another advisor.
