Systems Support Specialist (IT)

The Systems Support Specialist supports all hardware and software used by the company. The position requires thorough knowledge of hands-on technical support for network administration and a variety of computer systems with varying hardware and software configurations. This includes technical phone and email based support, as well as on-premise technical support for computer hardware and software issues. This position requires excellent customer service and communication skills while working remotely with our properties across the county. In addition, the position requires the ability to travel one to two times per month for new property acquisitions setup.
** We are particularly looking for someone that has experience working remotely with IT systems setup and troubleshooting for offices across the country. ** Also the ability to travel to new property onboardings once or twice a month is a must.
We are listing this ad as part time, but could go to full time based on the needs of our company.
Requirements
Training/Education:
* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science preferred
* Must be able to lift and move technical equipment
* Valid Driver's License and reliable private transportation
Qualifications Required:
* Strong organization and Time Management skills, with the ability to Multitask
* Must be proactive, organized and able to manage and prioritize workload
* Ability to work remotely and stay focused and self-motivated
Experience and Knowledge:
* Network experience a plus
* Forward thinker with the ability to roll out new software and technology.
* Self-starter who is willing to be hands-on in implementation and problem solving, but is strategic in terms of long-term system needs.
* Proficient with Microsoft products.
* Solid understanding of networking protocols and standards (DHCP, DNS, WINS, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls, and proxies).
* Proficient with disaster recovery products and virus/spyware systems.
* Yardi proficiency and Fonality (VOIP) experience a plus.
* Certifications such as Microsoft MSCE, etc are highly desirable.
Essential Functions:
* Responds to technical support inquiries within a reasonable timeframe, typically 24-48 hours
* Create, Maintain and troubleshoot network protocols and services.
* Multi-tasking capabilities to support network, hardware and software needs
* Responsible for daily backup, virus software updates, service packs and log files.
* Identify, research and resolve technical problems.
* Document, track and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.
* Support, monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
* Responsible for timely set-up, configuration and training of work stations.
* Provide support for traveling users, which includes training and troubleshooting.
* Responsible for developing end user training programs as necessary.
* Document IT policies and procedures.
* Be able to work in a flexible schedule environment as required to meet IT infrastructure objectives.
* Establishes and maintains systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhances the company's values
* Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports
