Sourcing parts for automotive heavy and light

I represent an automotive parts business in the United Kingdom seeking to expand our inventory sourcing capabilities. We currently supply parts for commercial trucks, buses and passenger vehicles throughout the UK market. To further grow our operations, I am searching for a skilled and experienced procurement specialist to take on sourcing responsibilities.

The initial role will focus on identifying reliable overseas manufacturers and distributors who can provide the heavy and light vehicle components we require at competitive pricing. You will be responsible for researching potential suppliers, evaluating product quality and lead times, negotiating terms and placing preliminary orders. Strong communication and negotiation abilities are essential as you will be interacting directly with international partners.

Upon successfully onboarding new suppliers and delivering an expanded inventory, there is an opportunity to transition this role into a commission-based structure. If performance metrics are achieved, you would become an independent sourcing agent focusing solely on our account while also earning a percentage of the business you generate.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent English language skills both written and verbal, along with proficiency using online research tools and MS Office suite. Familiarity within the automotive supply chain industry is preferred but not mandatory for initial trial period. Reliability and ability to work independently are a must as oversight will be remote.
