Description
Experience Level: Entry
We are looking for people to do data entry for online learning lessons. Our writers are producing lessons as standard documents using Open Office, free word processing software. The content of these documents has to be entered into Serna, an XML editor. You will then run a validation which is where Serna confirms that the fields are filled in correctly.
The job is complex data entry with multiple fields and XML rules. We will train successful applicants, but you should not apply if you are not comfortable working with this kind of data. Because of the complexity, we need experienced data entry people with a strong command of English.
The process is likely to be:
1. You received a completed document from a writer
2. You input the data into the Serna template.
3. Some fields may be missing or you may find mistakes which cause the XML validation to fail.
4. You will communicate back to the writer to let them know if anything is missing or incorrect.
5. The writer will resubmit the document
6. You will run the validation.
To do this job you must be accurate, work quickly, and be comfortable working with XML editors and schemas.
This will be ongoing work over the next several months, as and when writers complete lessons. You will not need to work immediately upon receiving a lesson, but should be prepared to start working within a few days of receiving lessons. Please make sure that you will have some general availability over this period.
Application Process
Because of the training time involved we are going to offer short listed candidates a short exercise to check that you have the data entry skills. If you do well on the exercise we will accept your bid, and begin training. After training you will be given your first task. Your training and the task will only be accepted if you complete it properly and within a reasonable amount of time--to be defined when we assign the task.
