Description
I currently have one Google Workspace account with multiple domains under it (x3)
All domains are currently managed under a single admin account, and I need to separate them into fully independent Google Workspace accounts.
I need someone to set up new, independent Google Workspace accounts for 2 of the domains.
Remove domains from the existing Workspace and reassign them
Migrate all data, including:
Emails
Google Drive files
Contacts
Calendars
Ensure minimal or no email downtime during the transition
Recreate user accounts in new Workspace
Advise on best structure for long-term ownership, one business is being sold
One of the businesses is being sold, so the setup needs to allow for a clean handover
My main email is heavily used across platforms (Stripe, booking systems, etc.), so continuity is important
One domain is currently hosted via Squarespace
I am looking for someone with strong experience with Google Workspace admin and domain migrations
Has previously handled multi-domain Workspace splits (not just basic email setup)
Can clearly explain the process and risks
Please let me know -
Have you done this exact type of Workspace domain split before?
How would you approach minimising downtime?
Estimated timeframes
Thank you!

How many active user mailboxes are moving into each new Workspace, and roughly how much Drive data sits under each domain?
-

can you please tell if all three domains are currently using the same MX records and email routing in Google Workspace?

Hi Hayley,
Thanks for the detailed brief, I just need a few quick clarifications to confirm the best and safest migration approach:
How many users/mailboxes are currently active across the 3 domains?
Do you already have the new Google Workspace accounts created for the 2 domains, or should I set everything up from scratch?
For the business being sold, do you want a full transfer of historical data (Gmail, Drive, Calendar), or only active/ongoing data?
Do you have full admin access to all domains and DNS records, including the Squarespace-hosted domain?
Is there a preferred time window for the migration to minimise disruption (weekends or off-peak hours)?
Once I have this, I can map out a clean split plan that ensures minimal downtime and safe continuity for your main email across all connected systems (Stripe, booking tools, etc.).
Looking forward to your response.
