Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hi there.
We are stocktakers for pubs and need to enter the till sales into our Excel report.
We are often given csv or Excel files which we manually enter into our Excel spreadsheet.
I dare say it's pretty easy to convert the csv file to Excel, but I was just wondering....
a. Is it possible to *automatically* allocate the appropriate figures into our spreadsheet ?
ie. Lets say the first product on the till report is Bacardi and it has sales of £100. Is it possible from a press of a button for Excel to read the word Bacardi and then allocate £100 worth of sales against this product in our spreadsheet ? Obviously then do the same for every product on the customer's till report.
b. Probably much harder, but sometimes we are given a printout. Is it at all possible to scan the sheets, convert the PDF to Excel and then allocate all the amounts as above ?
It would be great to hear what is possible.
Thanks.
Jon
