Description
Experience Level: Entry
UK only.
We engaged a supplier to render marketing services.
We signed up to a 3 month contract with payment in advance of each month, services rendered followed.
The supplier didn't appear to countersign the agreement - a technicality only perhaps .
They invoiced in advance for month 1, we paid, Month 1 work was subsequently completed following payment.
Come month 2 the supplier claimed they could not continue due to a technical issue with our marketing app but could provide an alternative resolution if an additional payment was made.
We found no technical issue but the supplier was unable to continue without resolving a 'technical issue' or without an additional payment.
We felt neither option was tangible.
We suggested to discontinue the agreement since the supplier was unable to supply the original services for the original cost.
The supplier suggested we pay Month 2 and Month 3 to exit the 'agreement' despite no work being completed or delivered.
They have since sold the debt to a debt collection company which is now pursuing us with invoices for Month 2 and 3 and threatening court action.
Looking for someone with experience to advise and/or bring resolution to the matter.
