Hi,
Goal: A tidy solution to the problem outlined below.
TimeFrame: Starting fairly soon and completion before 26th Sept 2012.
Cost: I don't know how complex this is,so let me know what it will take to get a good job done.
Communication: Good English essential.
Platform: We use Ms Excel 2007 but also some machines use earlier versions. If the solution requires a specific age of Excel please advise.
Future: If this works well, we will probably post more jobs.
We receive basic 'vehicle' data via DDE into Excel, the DDE updates around once per second but the values only change around once per minute. I can receive the DDE values no problem but I'm having trouble in 3 areas.
A) Recording a history of these DDE values
B) Getting each set of DDE values to apply to a specific part of the worksheet.
C) In addition to this I would like to create on a separate sheet some example, fixed range and dynamic range graphs based on these values. Based on this I hope to adapt the sheet myself.
Attached is a example worksheet, you can ignore most of it but... The DDE values arrive in cells E1:E4
The Value 'Lap Number' is adjusted in cell M2. (becuase sometime the incoming data is offset)
I would like the Live DDE data to be copied to the columns B,C,D and in the row where Lap Number matches the value in Column A.
I have achieved something that kinda worked but it was very clunky and macro's tied up the spreadsheet so much that I could do little other work with it. I am hoping that someone with greater Excel/VBA skill can make a much slicker solution and something that we can adapt and modify in the future.
Thanks,
John.
