UK Based - Freelance Developer – AI-Powered Search Tool (MVP)

We’re building a self-hosted AI tool that enables natural language queries over local files (PDF, Excel, CSV) and databases, returning structured, usable answers. The goal is to make messy internal data easily searchable.

We’re at the early MVP stage and need a developer who can:
• Build a Python backend using FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Implement document indexing and retrieval using LlamaIndex
• Integrate vector search using tools like FAISS or Chroma
• Connect to files and databases (Excel, PDFs, SQL, etc.)
• Design and deliver a clean, responsive web-based UI for querying and result presentation
• Work independently and deliver high-quality, well-structured code

A one-hour paid discovery call to scope the approach, review your recommendations, and align on the implementation plan.

Ongoing work:
If there’s a good fit, we’ll proceed with the full MVP build.
