Description
AI Product Engineer Needed to Build AI-Powered Child Development Content Platform
Description:
I am the founder of Nurture, a childcare communication and caregiver support app for families with babies and toddlers.
The app already exists and is built using an AI-assisted development platform. I am looking for an experienced AI Product Engineer to help design and implement an AI-powered activity and educational content engine.
The goal is to create a system capable of:
Generating age-appropriate child development activities
Creating structured educational content
Producing learning objectives and developmental outcomes
Generating quizzes and training materials
Supporting future image and video generation
Creating personalised activity plans based on age, materials and available time
Managing large libraries of AI-generated content
Implementing quality control and admin approval workflows
Ideal experience:
OpenAI, Claude or Gemini APIs
Prompt engineering
AI content generation systems
RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
Vector databases
MongoDB
Python
FastAPI
Educational or learning platforms
Mobile app integrations
The existing app is already live and functioning. This role is focused on designing the AI content architecture and helping create a scalable system for generating and managing thousands of childcare activities and learning resources.
Please provide examples of previous AI-powered products, content generation systems or educational platforms you have worked on.

Hi Kieran,
Before sharing a detailed approach or timeline, I’d like to clarify a few key points to make sure the system design aligns with your product roadmap:
1. Is the current Nurture app already built with a backend that we need to integrate into (e.g. Firebase, Supabase, MongoDB), or are we free to design a new AI service layer from scratch?
2. For content generation, do you want outputs to be:
Fully automated (AI generates + publishes directly), or
AI-generated but always reviewed via admin approval before publishing?
3. How structured do the activities need to be — for example, do you already have a defined curriculum framework (age bands, developmental milestones), or should the system also generate that taxonomy?
Looking forward to your response. -

Hi Kieran, what caught my attention is that you're not looking for a chatbot or a simple API integration—you’re building a content generation engine that could eventually become a significant competitive advantage for the Nurture platform. I recently worked on an AI-powered educational assistant that generated structured learning content, personalized recommendations, assessment materials, and progress-based guidance using LLMs, retrieval systems, and human review workflows. One of the key lessons from that project was that scalability comes less from the model itself and more from the content architecture, validation pipelines, metadata structure, and approval workflows surrounding it. For Nurture, I would focus on building a system that separates content generation, quality assurance, personalization, and publishing into distinct services so that activities, learning objectives, quizzes, developmental outcomes, images, and future video assets can evolve independently as the platform grows. I particularly like the childcare and early-development focus because it requires much higher standards around consistency, safety, and educational quality than generic content generation platforms. Before discussing implementation in detail, I'd be interested in understanding whether your long-term vision is primarily AI-assisted content creation with human approval, or fully automated content generation at scale with review occurring only on exceptions.
