Description

Experience Level: Expert
We are looking for writers who know their railway history and can write both accurately and engagingly about the history of steam in the country where the steam locomotive was invented. the book will be very highly ilustrated, but it is also important that the text is as good as possible.

Because we are working to a very tight schedule (text must be ready by mid-April) we are looking for 4-6 writers who can work together to create a text of around 55,000 words covering, among other topics:

-- Trevethick to the Stockton and Darlington
-- railway mania and the battle of the gauges
-- the Big Four and their locomotives
-- records and legends
-- the decline of steam
-- steam heritage today

If you are interested, can you please tell us:

-- exactly what your relevant expertise is, and what you have written before in the field
-- which part(s) of this project would interest you the most

Make sure you include a CV, and ideally some sample text in this or a similar area.
