Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the website: Plugin tweak
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: There is two parts to this task (both relatively small tasks).
Task 1: With ACF pro (https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/), i have created a checkbox field attached to my user settings. At the moment this is obviously only displayed on the backend within the Users section.
I want to make this checkbox available on one of my pages (front end) so that the user can update their settings. So it will just be a case of reflecting that checkbox form on my specified page reflecting the value currently (ticked/unticked). No styling needed as this will all be done by us.
Task 2: I am using Event Organiser VAT plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-organiser-vat/). The plugin is used to add VAT to ticket pricing. As an alternative i have used it as a minus value so that if the user selects 2 or more tickets, it reduces the amount by a certain percentage. However at the moment it reduces the value of all quantities (including 1).
Instead i need it so that if the ticket quantity is 2 or more, then minus the percentage set. At the moment its minus all ticket quantities.
I have been given the below info on how to do this, so just need to implement it:
Firstly, on the server side you'll want to add a check here to only add a "vat amount" if the booking contains more than one ticket (https://github.com/stephenharris/Event-Organiser-VAT/blob/master/includes/vat.php#L88). You can get the number of tickets as follows:
$quantity = eo_get_booking_meta( $booking_id, 'ticket_quantity', true );
Secondly, you want to repeat that logic, but in JavaScript, so that on the front-end the discount only appears if its valid. You would need to add that check here: https://github.com/stephenharris/Event-Organiser-VAT/blob/master/assets/js/vat.js#L32. The cart.quantity value will tell you how many tickets have been selected, if its less than 2, simply set vat_amount to 0.
Obviously i dont want the core plugin files to be altered though so this would need to be done using filters
