Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: Carpet Manufacturer
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of every page/module:
- this will be a single 'find your local installer' interactive map on a WordPress site
- Single page of the website
- Map of the UK where each county is clickable and Greater London is expanded (Greater London expanded like this: http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2011/11/24/1322127188757/Heat-map-wages-002.jpg)
- When a user clicks a county or district in London a box opens up to the side of the map with a photo and contact details
- there are 92 counties in the UK along with 33 districts in Greater London making 125 unique areas in total on the map
- however, there are only 13 installers working across these areas, so there will only need to be 13 boxes that open to the left of the map so Dorset and Somerset will be one click for example, in effect there will only be 13 clickable areas.
Very similar to this map: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting/maps/interactive/
The exact parts of this example we want are when you click on a location, then click more info, we want the box that opens to the left of the page, we don't need the pop up with 'share this', 'report a problem' etc.
So, in short:
This functionality:
http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting/maps/interactive/
That looks like this:
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2011/11/24/1322127188757/Heat-map-wages-002.jpg
Description of requirements/features: The text and images need to be editable, preferably through the WordPress CMS but through cpanel/ftp if need be, incase an installer leaves or their contact details change.
Specific technologies required: It needs to work with WordPress
