Description

Experience Level: Expert
Tomcat 5.5, MySQL 5.1, Java

I have a web application being an instance of the SnipSnap wiki (please see http://snipsnap.org/space/start). I need to export the data. Unfortunately, one table space has mixed collations and I need someone who can convert this table space to UTF-8. I get the following error in the Tomcat log:

java.lang.RuntimeException: JDBCTemplate: unable to execute query [...]
java.sql.SQLException: Illegal mix of collations (latin1_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '='
at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createSQLException(SQLError.java:1055)

If someone could solve my problem, that would be great.

If you are able to do the complete migration from SnipSnap to Confluence (see http://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/), your offer is also highly welcome.

If you have a passion with wikis: besides the SnipSnap wiki, I have an addtional XWiki instance (see http://www.xwiki.org) that needs to be migrated to Confluence too.

Also follow-up development offers are possible in the area of Confluence. Anyway, your first bid should focus on solving my MySql encoding problem to get to know each other. Thanks!
