Redesigning The Graphics and Theme for the North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band Website
This is an open call for bids on redesigning the graphics and theme for our new website. The site uses Dreamweaver software and is hosted on our University of North Texas server. Therefore, your design will be based on graphics and basic look /feel. The navigation and site-directory should remain the same. It will need to be something where you can take the Dreamweaver files and incorporate your work into it in such a way that we can then upload them onto the site already in place. I am obviously a novice at Dreamweaver, but I have produced a fairly large amount of content and we have a growing and loyal fan base who has been reading the site faithfully.
With your redesign, I would need to be able to do the following:
1. Upload or \"put\" the files onto the server I am currently using on our UNT server
2. Update text and jpegs as I do currently using your redesigned graphics and theme.
Your design would need to incorporate the following:
1. No animation or sound
2. Must be able to be viewed on all browsers, and smart phones.
3. No special plug-ins needed to view
4. Use the full screen. The current look uses a column down the middle and I feel is limiting.
5. Very user-friendly and intuitive.
Suggestions for the graphics themselves:
1. No use of musical instruments or notes
2. Incorporate images of the band, as well as directors Steve Wiest, Neil Slater, and Leon Breeden
2a. The band images will need to be updated every year.
3. Work in images of iconic One O'Clock CD cover art (Lab 75, Lab 87, Remembering Gene Hall, Lab 89, Lab 2009)
4. Prominent placement of the North Texas Jazz Logo and The One O'Clock iPhone App Logo
5. All of the above images can be Googled or found via our current One O'Clock site
I am looking for cutting-edge modern graphics that will give us an edgy-hip look worthy of the long tradition of modern jazz that is the six time Grammy-nominated One O'Clock Lab Band. Please send mock-up ideas with a water mark (for your security) so that the band can vote on the winning bid. The winning designer will have a feature page on the site (you may design your own content for that page) with a link to your business. As we deal with a very large network of alumni who make up some of the most important and successful people in the music business today, such a link and endorsement from us will no doubt increase your opportunities for future work.
We will accept bids and mock ups until June 1. The One O'Clock will vote on the winning design at that time and all bidders will then be notified by an announcement
on this page.
