Experience Level: Entry
This is an opportunity for an individual with a minimum of 12 months website related work experience to work on a high profile outdoor sports and activities website.
Role: to take day-to-day responsibility for content on the website, including quality checking, editing, updating and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
 Use web-based content management system to update/publish website content
 Quality check all content before publication and ensure content meets internal guidelines
 Setup and maintain up-to-date information on website for advertisers
 Ensure content is optimised for search engines (SEO)
 Monitor and report on event and club information published on website
 Generate ideas for new content
 Commission work from freelance writers and other contributors
 Obtain and edit imagery for website
 Create HTML email newsletter to send to website users
 Create HTML banners, buttons and images for marketing
 Monitor daily web stats & report on ongoing marketing initiatives
Key skills:
 Knowledge of the outdoor sports and activities market - essential
 Excellent attention to detail - essential
 Excellent grammar and spelling with good communication skills generally - essential
 Ability to manage own workload and work under own initiative - essential
 Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS etc and Fireworks (or equivalent) • preferred
 Basic understanding of web analytics (Google) - preferred
 Basic understanding of SEO - preferred
 Experience of using web technologies to create and maintain web sites - preferred
Initially this will be approx 3-4 hours per day, Mon-Fri. Additional hours may be required and hours may increase over time. Must be willing to travel to Harrogate office for training and occasional on-going contact - although all work can be done remotely via website. Looking for on-going involvement.
Please provide full details of experience/skills and hourly rate based on minimum of 15 hours per week. 2 references will also be required.
