My company is looking to automate our website building services that will allow them to concentrate on their current client's needs. Currently, our team is looking to create system that will allow our clients to build and maintain their website themselves.
The system we have in place (can be accessed at http://builder.ieditnetwork.com) consists of a left-side navigation menu where they can add code blocks, change styling, edit SEO and meta tags, refresh content viewer, open a modal of 'About this Builder', and finally a publish link. The rest of the page consists of the content viewer which is currently a dynamic iFrame that is manipulated by commands in the navigation and direct interaction.
Here is a current breakdown of all of the commands within the navigation:
-- When the user clicks the code blocks icon, a will slide from the left to show a list of available blocks. At the top of the snippet blocks slide-out, there is a jQuery-based filter which filters by 'class'. The blocks are made up of a containing an of an example of the snippet and a with the name for the block below that. The that contains this snippet has a 'onclick' attribute that will activate a jQuery (or PHP) command which will add a specific HTML snippet to the content viewer within a specific .
-- When the user clicks the Styling icon, a DIV will slide from the left navigation slide-out's (and any currently opened will close) to show where there is a with dropdown that controls a '$_POST' variable that will change the 'src' to a different subdirectory depending on the dropdown item's attribute 'value'. Other variables controlled by a second and third dropdown which the variable will control the 's color scheme and font families. Other additional fields will be needed in the future. When the user is satisfied with the changes made, the user will then click the 'Save Changes' input button which will submit the form and change the variables and refresh the to display the changes.
-- When the user clicks the SEO and Tags icon, a will slide from the left navigation slide-out's (and any currently opened will close) to show where there is a with different fields that require a user's input (for example a site name) that controls a '$_POST' variable that will change within the (such as the tag) and upon submit and then refresh.
-- When the user clicks the Refresh Content icon, the content viewer will refresh.
-- When the user clicks the Editor Settings/Information icons, a modal appears (needs to fade in) containing the company logo, system legal notice, copyright notice, and version number. When the user clicks anywhere outside of the modal (such as the faded background) the modal will disappear (needs to fade out).
-- When the user clicks the Publish Your Website icon, a modal appears (needs to fade in) containing an FTP login form that will publish the designed website and it's resources to the desired account on a designated FTP host. Before the site can properly publish, a Jquery (or PHP) script will need to execute to remove all of the editing tags within the content preview (Reference: https://goo.gl/CaSn5l). A publishing will need to overlay the entire modal and temporarily disable the hide modal command until the site is either successfully published which then hide the publishing modal (needs to fade out). If a publishing error occurs, a error message will display and offer to republish again or to contact support.
Our company is not currently on a time basis with this project.
