Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
General information for the website: We sell outdoor sports products online and we have a navigation/paging issue with our site that needs resolving
Description of requirements/features: We have recently had a new theme (Logancee) installed onto our multi-site Magento installation/server. All is in working order with the exception of the paging on the Magento category pages, i.e. the navigation/paging options are missing from the page so only the first nine products are displayed and you cannot move from one page to the next, previous etc. What should appear is:
- Text stating 'Showing 1 of x Total', 'Sort By' and an option to select how many products to display on each page at the top of the page. Currently these items are not displayed, although 9 products are displayed on the first category page.
- Page numbers at the bottom of the page with 'Next' and 'Previous' arrows.
All of the above are a standard part of the theme / template and have been setup within Magento. They are displayed correctly on the test site (screenshots attached), but do not appear on production.
Our web developer believes this is issue is due to our PHP version which is currently 5.3.3. They believe we should upgrade to 5.6. However, further debugging may be required if this is not the source of the issue.
We need a Linux (CentOS) expert who is very familiar with setting up PHP for Magento to upgrade our PHP installation to 5.6 and ensure it is in working order. If this does not solve the problem we would ask that the successful freelancer debugs and resolves what is an isolated and relatively small issue.
The settings in the existing PHP installation will need to be applied to the new version which includes APC which has been configured via the existing php.ini file.
This could be 1 hours work or it could be 3-4 hours work, depending upon whether the PHP upgrade solves the issue.
The successful freelancer will need to work from the SSH command line as we do not have a control panel and they will need to be a CentOS and Magento expert.
The successful freelancer will also need to be available immediately to complete this work. Please only bid if you have these skills and can start work immediately and complete the work within one day.
The functionality that is not working on the production server and this is the server that requires debugging. However, it is working on the web developers test server which the successful freelancer can view.
The successful freelancer will be expected to liaise with the web developer who will be able to show them the paging functionality working on the test site and answer any questions to aid the debugging.
Specific technologies required: CentOS, Magento, Linux command line, PHP installation and configuration
Extra notes:
