Job details: I've recently returned to the world of 3D Modelling but I never did figure out how to do UVW Unwraps. I've built a space ship based on the Imperial Freighter/Gozanti-class cruiser from Star Wars - it is all one model.
I'd imagine the unwrap to be pushed to a few different texture files/sizes but if you can unwrap the entire model into one file/UV, you'd not only be a genius, you'd be a savior. I can export the Unwraps from 3DS Max myself after your work on the file but if you'd like to send me any progress updates, just quick screenshots of a Unwrap export would be amazing.
If you do end up splitting it up, I would suggest the wings/wing sections being one, the engines being another, then the main hull and under side being split too. I'll be doing the texture work but if you could take the .max or .3ds file and do this I would be super happy (and impressed).
Ideas for the visual style: Star Wars
Urls to draw inspiration from: http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/3/3b/Gozanti-class_cruiser_SWR.png/revision/latest?cb=20140926140535 (same as reference photo to show you what you're working on)
Extra notes: Modeled in 3DS Max 2016. Can supply in .max and .3ds.
The model has some strange cuts and edges because I was originally just going to put materials on different sections of the model - I will be using them as a guide when I texture in Photoshop now so if they could be kept (aka no big changes to the model) then that would be great.
Last note: I started trying to UV it - feel free to just completely scrap what I did.
