General information for the business: We are Chartered Accountants
Description of requirements/functionality: Utility for Importing Email Data in Excel
We want a utility which can work as a “separate INDEPENDENT tool functioning independently”
We have 6 different email accounts, and from that we want following data to be extracted and be filled into an excel sheet:
The utility should be able to login and check all of our 6 email accounts on specified intervals (timing Interval should be user definable), automatically. For eg. if user has set interval of 15 mins, then the utility should automatically keep on checking email accounts on every 15 Mins and update the registers of email received, in EXCEL Sheet.
Email Accounts at present are 6, but It may increase or decrease in future, so those details also should be user definable, capable of addition and deletion or alteration.
Most Important:
1. emails are accessed by multiple locations of our offices, so all emails, "read" or "unread" ... "ALL" are to be downloaded.
2. There are thousands of emails in each of our email accounts, so we will specify a starting date, the utility should begin to search and download only those emails which are received on or after the 'specified' date.. and not all..
Date & Time Stamp of Job :
Our Email Account (ID)
Sender ID
Email Received Dt
Email Received Time (As per Indian Time)
List of IDs in CC & BCC
Subject of Email
Text from Email Body
Has Attachment any attachments ? [Yes/No]
Whether attachments are separate or Zipped/RAR file [
Total No. of Attachments if they are separate
List of filenames of All the File in attachments, separated by “;”
Total No. of Files in ZIP/RAR
List of filenames of All the File in ZIP file/RAR File, separated by “;”
Hyperlink of the location where downloaded attachments are saved
The Attacments should be downloaded to user definable folder location in following format : “User defined Path\Source Email ID Name\Email Dt\Sender Id\Short Subject (First 50 characters)\Files as per original name.
If the attachments are zip/rar files, then contents thereof should be extracted in full, after downloading, and the same should be saved as per above-mentioned path.
