Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have a Sun Accounts database from a client who wants to extract P&L and Balance Sheet data via an ODBC link.
The actual writing of the ODBC link is taken care of (I have a VB.Net programmer who will do this for me, and actually the VB.Net program needs to do a lot more than just extract the data).
Instead, what I need is just to understand where the data needs to be taken from, and the rules surrounding the columns which are referenced when they compile their P&L and BS by month. I\'ve asked them to help me troubleshoot it, but they have no idea.
At present, the data in the tables that I can see using MS SQL doesn\'t seem to reconcile to the P&L & BS reports the client has supplied me with.
I can supply a copy of the database to bidders, as well as PDFs of the P&L and BS reports. In return I need an explanation / set of rules that I can pass to my VB.Net guy for programming.
