Description
Experience Level: Expert
Indraft Solutions Limited is a UK company engaged in outsourcing digital dictation to India for transcription exclusively on behalf of professional clients i.e. doctors and solicitors.
Indraft operates a system whereby digital dictation is sent electronically to India via web link or e mail and is transcribed and returned within strict turn around times. For each client solicitor firm or doctor there is a template into which the dictation is transcribed.
Summary of Job Spec
%u2022 To train and supervise new staff (transcribers) to type in accordance with set protocols
%u2022 To oversee quality control and reduce the need for this work to be done in the UK
%u2022 To help set procedures and standards as a template for the future
The quality of the work produced by Indraft%u2019s team is extremely high but finding suitably trained staff in India is becoming an increasing problem. Indraft also wishes to reduce the amount of quality control work it needs to undertake from the UK (and thus costs) and this in turn requires greater autonomy on the part of individual transcriptionists and hence higher skill levels. Indraft is in the process of recruiting a new batch of transcriptionists to work in India and wishes to send a suitably qualified, independent contractor from the UK to supervise the initial training of those new staff with the aim of ensuring that high quality standards are maintained.
It is envisaged that the training will take a minimum of 2 months possibly 3 depending on progress and will involve both group and individual training on site in India. The group size will be no more than 6 people. A full briefing on Indraft%u2019s business and the areas of training that need to be addressed will be given prior to departure from the UK. However, by way of outline subjects to be covered will include formatting, punctuation, grammar including capitalisation, use of tense, Word shortcuts and file management etc
The people to be trained will all be able to type and have reasonble English skills both written and oral.
Who would suit this job?
A teacher or legal secretary would probably have the skills sought
