Finance Manager - £35k pro rata - events and festival company
Have you ever fancied taking your proven finance skills to a cool, young and exciting company? This might be your chance!
NVS Promotions - the events company behind Outlook and Dimensions Festivals - is looking for an incredibly savvy Finance Manager to come in and give them a hand with all aspects of finance. The company have rapidly established themselves at the forefront of the European festival scene, now with over 25,000 people attending the events - an incredible feat!
The Finance Manager will be initially employed on a three month fixed-term contract with a view to the role becoming permanent at the end.
Reporting to the Managing Director, and working alongside the company accountant, the Finance Manager’s role will be critical in reformatting the financial processes for the company to ensure clarity and insight across all areas.
The main duties will be:
evaluation of current finance process and recommendations for improvement, including detail around management information (accounts, budgets and forecasts), petty cash and expenses administration and account software
bi-weekly meetings with budget holders to discuss finance actuals and opportunities/threats within each profit/cost centre
weekly reports including actuals and projections
constructing a financial management plan to forecast cash payments, on-site payment systems and reporting processes for the festival incomes
The accounts payable/receivable, credit control, bank reconciliations and VAT returns will initially be the responsibility of the company accountant, however may become part of the role in the long run.
Due to the high-level nature of the role, we really need someone with a strategic financial viewpoint - someone who has been able to walk into a similar role and own processes from the get go. You need to be able to advise the company on what it should be doing based on your evaluations, and come up with strong recommendations - basically own the department.
In terms of experience, you need proven success in a similar, strategic, results-based Finance Manager (or similar) role within the events industry, and be part-qualified ACA or ACCA (although AAT will also be considered).
If you have experience of international tax dealings even better, as the festivals are based in Europe - an understanding of the rules and regulations of tax on the continent would be really beneficial!
This role is an incredible opportunity for someone enthusiastic, lively, extroverted and with a real in-depth understanding of finance for events and how it should be done. If you’re up for working in a super environment, for some great people and a pretty cool company - get in touch for more information!
