Jan,
I don't know if you have any experience in textile surface design but if you are interested let me know. We are a new label located in the Gulf Coast area of the US, home base is New Orleans, LA, USA . We do cotton skirts and dresses in fun prints under our label, Creole Cottage Designs - - we always work in cotton (poplin) and we always do prints. We are a casual label and we are known for our first design, the Fest Skirt. We design for a warm weather demographic and our designs tend to be light and fresh. While we are still small, we are growing. I will attach a few photos of what some prints we have done. We do a lot of contrast print mix as well, the Fest Skirt has a contrast waistband that we flip down if we want the skirt shorter. It also has contrast material on the pockets. So we always pair our prints to make sure we have coordinating prints. We have been buying our prints from jobbers and we have done a few of our own. But we want to do a line of signature toiles, the first two will be a nod to New Orleans, our hometown. I can’t really tell your aesthetic from your website but your landscape drawing makes me think you can do toiles. Our look is decidedly laid back, fun, a bit girly and flirty. We find the bold, big two color prints seem to sell well and our toiles do great. We need a textile designer to do prints for us on a regular basis, we retire the print after a season. We may reintroduce those prints but we are known for fresh prints. Nature is a big theme but sometimes it’s just a fun print, be it geo or paisley. If you are interested, please email or ring me and let me know if you can do price per print with us owning the rights. Also, I know toiles will be more time consuming than simple prints, so how would your prices vary? Thanks so much for your time.
