Experience Level: Intermediate
Job Title: Freelance Sales Professional – New business development
Industry sector: Leadership development
Time expectation: 1 day per week
Start date: January 2011
Duration: Long term with a minimum 6 month commitment (though option to finish after 3 months if need be)
Per hour: Between £10 and £15 per hour plus commission
Location: based from home so anywhere in mainland UK
Role expectations:
• To instigate business development specifically within large and corporate business’s
• Outbound calling to book people on courses, free webinars and to arrange qualified telephone or face to face meetings
• Build a database of people interested in leadership
• Ongoing conversations to build relationships over the phone
• Be the eyes and ears in the marketplace feeding back to business
• Weekly report and monthly review
Ideal candidate:
• Have a proven capability as a sales professional with specific experience in new
business development and relationship selling
• Sales of professional services or intangible services preferable
• Experience of selling to corporate ideal
• Self starter, motivated and driven to deliver
• Strong listening and questioning skills (respectful, sensitive and flexible to others
responses)
• Articulate and intelligent with good PC and writing ability
• Have a strong service ethic – as a freelancer this will be your client and you\'ll be working in a team
• Be in it for the long haul – the ideal is for the right freelancer to grow in experience and ability with long term opportunities to get more involved in the sales and marketing side of the business if interested
