Hi. I've been getting flooring and kitchen work done this past week, and the team have uncovered a problem. It appears that when my kitchen was extended in the past, part of the original external wall remains to support the loadbearing beam/RSJ above. At some point somebody has knocked some bricks out of this, so the entire wall looks to be supported by a half brick only. I need an assessment to work out if this is really load bearing (I'm sure it is) and whether this gap can just be bricked back up safely.
