Sub: Computation of Bayesian Continual Reassessment Method for Dose-identification studies in Medicine.
I am a medical doctor and researcher by profession and have good background of statistics over 2 decades in Frequentist approach to statistics including the relevant computations.
I am just turning to Bayesian approach to analysis. Bayesian statistics have an important role in medical research as there is a lot of scope of updation of our current beliefs based on current and new information. An important application is in Continual Reassessment Method (CRM) for Dose-identification studies in drug trials. Although introduced as early as in 1990s, different versions have evolved including version related to Bayesian approach with a one-parameter power model. Please refer to formulas on pages 1 to 3 of the reference attached. I need help only for the formulas described on those pages.
I wish to know how exactly one can arrive at the posterior estimates.
Demo data and reference for formulas are attached.
