We have built a social media plan for the next 3 months and have an opportunity for a Social Media Assistant to manage the content. Must be experienced in managing multi-channel social media and be a freelancer (we are not looking for an agency or company), based in the UK, who is able to provide examples and who doesn't write in a spammy/salesy-manner. We are not using social media for direct selling, but for soft lead generation, brand awareness and keeping our audience updated.
About Us - We are a creative agency in Leeds, though very small we are extremely busy and work with local, national and international clients, many through PPH, others through recommendations, social media and networking events. Our services include WordPress website design, Shopify website design, email marketing, social media management, branding, print design, content creation and app design.
Our social media plan is very specific in a calendar format. You will be posting on 4 channels: Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest. You will be invited to use Sendible (similar to Hootsuite) to manage the social media, however any posts with images must be posted directly onto the relevant site. This is because the app doesn't manage image posts very well (it just posts a link to their image hosting website rather than uploading the image to the post). When you post links please use an URL shortener such as bit.ly. If you pre-date posts please don't do this more than a week's worth.
Our tone of voice is also very specific. Our content is happy, witty and on a first person basis. For example, rather than posting "We are sponsoring The Business Show in London, get your tickets at www.tbs.co.uk before sales end", we would write "We're getting ourselves down to The Business Show in sunny London next week, oh and we are featured sponsors! Grab a ticket while you still can at www.tbs.co.uk". This is very important as we aim to stand out from the crowd.
Where images are specified in the plan you will be provided with these to upload in the posts. Initially you won't be replying to Tweets and Facebook comments/messages and instead alert us to them. This will be handled by our Customer Service until you are more integrated into our team. Posts will be on a daily basis Mon-Fri. Approx 2-3 hours per week since you will be following a schedule which includes specific but short topics, you will just be posting the content and retweeting/sharing posts from our partners ie. Zendesk, MailChimp, Shopify, etc.
Excuse the long job description - Social Media is important to us so it's important we choose the right person. We really hate boring and generic proposals, plus we favour fun and informal introductions over cliche buzzwords such as "proficient" and "key strengths".
