Dear Sirs,
I am looking for a custom simple Outlook addin that can be used to make our communication process a bit easier. Because our budget is quite small in this moment, I am looking for a company that has already all the libraries and tools in place, not to charge us for developing them. Sorry for being so straight, but I have seen offers and prices (all quite big and not realistic) and it is not much left until I decide to develop such thing myself.
Reason and workflow:
We have very fragmented and small projects/requests that consume a lot of energy to track and not to lose them. We work in a more old-fashioned way with pen and paper, but we would like to gradually change that.
Each of our 5 employees (including me) receive daily emails, out of which about 10% are small projects/requests. We need to sort out these important emails, to create tasks out of them and to assign them several pieces of information, some can be taken from the emails themselves, while others (about 5 fields) should be selected by the employee when reading or opening the email. These fields should be either textboxes of comboboxes for the employee to choose, and are defined from the start and will not change (can be hard-coded). Maybe, if this works, we can bring version 2 some day. But let\'s stick to the version 1 and to the main goal.
Functionality:
a) create new tasks directly from the selected email message(s) by right click or by a toolbar button. Can be selected 1 message or several.
b) when creating the new tasks a dialog box opens asking the X pieces of information which are saved within the task.
b2) among the X pieces of employee selectable information, there is also a unique ID formed assembled from EmployeeID (3 letters code) and a unique task no, generated incrementally. The unique ID is also written on top of the incoming originating email message. When the message will be forwarded or replied to, this code will go embedded in the message.
b3) among the information collected automatically (and hard-coded) from the message itself there are the sender, date/time and subject of the email.
c) finally, all new tasks will be forwarded to a configurable email address as a backup address.
Please tell me how could we proceed with such a plugin that should run on Outlook 2003, 2007 or above.
