Description of requirements/features: Plesk Panel Access Problem
I haven't updated the server software for a long time and this is the reason why I can’t login to my Plesk Panel and manage it. One company tried to solve it but it didn’t help. The problem he thinks we are having:
I have accessed your server via SSH and restarted the psa process so Plesk will load correctly and I have also disabled the automatic updates so the issue will not reoccur.
root@server:/# service psa startall
The issue that that you are encountering is caused by the fact that you are still using Ubuntu 10.04 which is no longer supported:
root@server:/# lsb_release -s -d
Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS
Because of this the mirrors used for application updates are no longer available, which means that Plesk will not be able to complete its automatic updates.
Nevertheless you should consider one of the two possible solutions (we strongly recommend you to consider the second option) which will allow you to perform updates:
- Rebuild the current VPS with Ubuntu 12.04.
- Migrate to a 3rd party company which will provide a supported operating system as well as a newer virtualization platform.
Regarding the server's content migration, I'm afraid that this part would need to be carried over from your end, therefore you will first need to backup your server's content locally, purchase a new server with 123-reg / Heart Internet and then upload the content on the new server.
Please provide me with a cost in regards to managing these changes as described above.

Hi Shaun,
Can you tell me a bit about the site you're running? Is it running on a well-known CMS like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc, or something custom? Also, did you consider upgrading the current 10.04 Ubuntu (which is ancient, indeed) to a more recent version, or would that break your site (if it was written in PHP5, it's likely)?
If you could kindly answer these questions, I could submit a bespoke proposal.
Regards,
Tamas
