Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the business: Purchase of existing business
Industry: Food and Beverage
Kind of consulting: Finance
Description of consulting work: I am looking to purchase my first business and have had an offer of £80,000 accepted on a doorstep milk delivery business. The business is turning over £580k with a profit of £45k, the issue I have is because it is mainly a cash business the current owners accounts are not as good as they should be to sell the business but they are purchasing 12,500 litres of milk form their supplier each week so the business is clearly there.
I have a basic business plan but with this being my first business i am unclear how much detail the banks will need so would like someone with experience to review it for me.
The business is currently spending £60k a year on advertising and canvasing but my plan would be to cut this back slightly and upsell to the current base, adding products such as veg boxes and meat hampers form local artisan producers that are passionate about food production and animal welfare as quality, convenience and provenance are becoming increasingly important to the consumer.
I also thought using top quality meat hampers as rewards could be a great way to fund the business through crowd funding, creating a customers before the business is up and running but i have no experience of crowd funding so would need advise on how to be successful.
I was looking to self fund £24-27k and borrowing £56-60k with a bank overdraft to create cash flow in the first couple of months.
Look forward to hearing from you
Thanks for taking the time to read my proposal
