Description
Experience Level: Expert
I need to hire someone to work with me for half a day, or a whole day depending on how much we get done. I need you to be available on Monday 27th July at the IP business centre at the Central Library, in Euston London, for which you'll need to be a member (just need ID and proof of address). I need to do business research for a business plan I'm preparing for a production company I'm setting up, incorporating music, film and events.
I therefor need to find information about these particular areas:
Music Industry
- Setting up and workings of a music publishing company
- Record deal % for independent artist • how the royalties are split
- What % artists agents and managers take
- Cost of artist promotoers publicists
- Digital tipping services for artists websites
- Who are all the UK performing rights societies and how they work out how much to pay the label
- How uk groups gain foreign royalties
- Synchronisation License Avenues, the best way to get music available to be used in film / tv / advertising
- How synchronisation licenses are spilt up • is it the same as record sale royalties
- what is the marketing / PR cost of launching an artist on an independent label
- Subscription services like last.fm - what other UK based companies and how they work out royalties for the label
- UK online digital distribution aggregaotrs • which companies, charging what, selling on which digital retial outlets.
- Is there are UK equivalent of CD baby
- Ringtone Distribution • which aggregator websites to use for them
- UK physical cd sales distribution companies • who + how deals work
- Advertising costs in various publications for promoting artists
Film Industry
- Film distribution how the financials work when a film is bought in a distribution deal.
- size of distribution deals for various films • where to find out this information
- how much of films gross profit goes actually to the production company
TV Industry
- TV broadcast deals • how they work • how much different UK companies pay • do they only use programming from within their own organisation
- TV reality shows • how do the financials work
- how much does production co get paid per episode
- what is the split of revenus from phone in voting
Event Industry
- Advertising costs in various publications for promoting a monthly night / summer festival
- The financials of selling tickets to events through ticket ditributors
General
- The economic use and implementation of loyalty bonus schemes
I can pay £50 for a half day and £100 for a whole day (8 hours). This business is associated with a very unique project and will lead to more work in the future, including anything we don't get done in the day, take a look at www.thelaunch-movie.com.
I'm Looking for keen candidates who might know or be able to acquire some of the information before we meet.
I may carry out some market research in the library with specifically designed non-intrusive questions, so need to be prepared and have the confidence for that.
I will be carrying out the research with you and we will work together, utilising the library business resources, as well as the Internet and you will also have the use of a phone.
Please get back to me with your relevant experience and a little information about yourself.
Unfortunately the only day that this can be done on is this Monday (27th), 9.00 @ Central Library. If not, but you feel you could find a lot of this information on your own, then I will listen to offers.
Many regards,
Joshua
